MONTJUIC DE NIT

≡ Category: REVIEWS |

If your in town best not miss it, as well as having free access to CaixaForum, the Miro Foundation and MNAC, a mere three of Barcelona’s galleries you would have missed such opportunities as free pool parties, fireworks and possibly the best gig this year. By that we mean the insuperable combination of Sandro Bianchi & Najwa Nimri together at Estadi OlĂmpic (refer to reviews for photos and write up) sponsored by Bicardi.

Anyway a little while away in a museum called MNAC (Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya) hosted the most anticipated Modern art exhibition from the likes of Duchamp, Man Ray & Picabia. You know the guys at the start of the 20th century who started or so called created contemporary art. No? Remember the Mona Lisa with the mustache drawn on? The horizontal urinal with 1917 in black scribble? A normal house hold brush that has been erected in in the middle of a glass cabinet? Yes those guys. The “creators” of contemporary art. The guys who questioned the very concept of the work of art. And a fine job of that they did indeed. Francis Picabia was a stand out. Attached are some forms of art from the exhibition. Think what you wanna think. Do what you wanna think yeah.
